These terms apply to the 1st Annual 5K Bob’s Way on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Franklin Park, Boston, organized by Requipment Durable Medical Equipment and Assistive Technology Reuse Program, Inc. (d/b/a REquipment), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in support of the Bob Hall Legacy Fund. By registering for the event, you agree to these terms. Participants who registered before these terms were published agree to them by signing the participant waiver at check-in.
Registration
Each adult participant must register separately. One registration covers one participant. Early bird registration is $25 through August 1, 2026; standard registration is $35; day-of registration is $45; registration for individuals with a disability is $15. Registration includes a T-shirt and a participation medal, while supplies last for day-of registrants.
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except as required by law. Your registration fee supports the Bob Hall Legacy Fund and REquipment’s work refurbishing and redistributing mobility equipment across Massachusetts, whether or not you are able to attend.
Participants Under 18
Children ages 16 and under participate free of charge when accompanying a registered participant age 18 or older. A parent or legal guardian must remain onsite for the duration of the event and is responsible for their supervision, conduct, and safety at all times. Unaccompanied participants ages 16 and under may not take part.
Participants who are 17 register at the standard rate and may participate without a parent onsite, but a parent or legal guardian must sign the participant waiver on their behalf, in advance or at check-in.
A parent or legal guardian must sign the participant waiver on behalf of every participant under 18.
Participant Waiver and Release
All participants must agree to the following waiver. Participants who register online acknowledge the waiver at checkout and confirm it by signature at check-in on event day. A parent or legal guardian signs on behalf of participants under 18.
In consideration of my registration and participation in the 1st Annual 5K Bob’s Way on September 12, 2026 at Franklin Park, Boston (“the Event”), I agree as follows:
Assumption of risk. I understand that participating in a 5K run/walk/roll event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, contact with other participants or equipment, surface and weather conditions, and physical exertion. I am voluntarily participating with knowledge of these risks, and I represent that I am physically able to participate and have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional.
Release. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Requipment Durable Medical Equipment and Assistive Technology Reuse Program, Inc. (d/b/a REquipment), the Bob Hall Legacy Fund, the Event’s sponsors and volunteers, and the owners and managers of the Event site, from any and all claims arising from my participation in the Event, including claims of ordinary negligence.
Medical authorization. I authorize Event personnel to arrange emergency medical treatment for me if needed, at my expense or my insurer’s.
Photography. I grant the Bob Hall Legacy Fund and REquipment permission to use photographs and video taken at the Event, which may include my image, for promotional purposes without compensation. If you prefer not to appear in Event photography, we will not use images in which you are the primary subject, and we will remove any published image of you on request to info@bobhalllegacyfund.org.
Minors. If I am agreeing on behalf of a participant under 18, I represent that I am the participant’s parent or legal guardian, I agree to these terms on their behalf, and I accept the supervision responsibilities described in these Event Terms. This release also applies to any claims arising from my own presence at the Event, whether or not I am a registered participant.
Event Conditions and Changes
The event takes place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or other conditions that make holding the event unsafe, the organizers may delay, modify, or cancel the event. If the event is canceled, registration fees will be treated as donations to the Bob Hall Legacy Fund and will not be refunded. The organizers may update the course, schedule, or event details at any time; the campaign page at bobhalllegacyfund.org reflects the most current information.
Conduct and Safety
All participants are expected to follow the instructions of event staff, volunteers, and posted signage; to keep the course accessible and yield safely to wheelchair athletes and other participants; and to treat fellow participants, staff, and spectators with respect. The organizers may decline participation to, or remove from the event, anyone whose conduct endangers others, without refund. Spectators attend at their own risk and are subject to the direction of event staff.
Sponsorships
Sponsorship contributions support the Bob Hall Legacy Fund and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The fair market value of any complimentary race registrations included with a sponsorship is not deductible; your acknowledgment letter will state the deductible amount. EIN 47-5344439.
Fundraising
Peer-to-peer fundraising for the event is hosted on Givebutter and is subject to Givebutter’s own terms of service. Donations made through the Givebutter campaign are received by REquipment and support the Bob Hall Legacy Fund.
General
If any provision of these terms or the participant waiver is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
